POLICIES &
PROCEDURES
Private/Paired lessons:
Private lessons consist of one-to-one lessons with the student and instructor. Private lessons are for beginner and advanced students who wish to master their craft or for students who work better in a smaller setting. One makeup lesson per semester will be awarded to the student. If a lesson is missed due to an emergency and the instructor is given notice, it will be made up. Make-up lessons will not be awarded to no-shows/no-calls. The lesson will be forfeited. If a scheduled make-up lesson is canceled, that make-up lesson is also forfeited. Regularly scheduled lessons not completed by the end of the semester, due to teacher absence, will be credited to the student. Zoom lessons are offered upon request for regular/make-up lessons if for any reason you are unable to make it to the studio.
Paired lesson only: If one student misses a lesson while the other is present, the present student will receive a 15-minute private lesson. If the teacher is able, the lesson can be made up for the absent student. The make-up lesson will be 15 minutes.
Students who arrive no more than 10 minutes late will be given the remainder of the scheduled time. If arriving past the 10 minutes, the lesson will be forfeited and not considered for makeup.
We encourage Parents/Guardians in the classroom to observe and encourage student learning during the first few lessons. It is important for parents to understand the nature of lessons in order to foster growth at home. In addition, only one student is permitted in class at a time.
No additional siblings/friends/family are permitted in the classroom with students during class time.
Group Lessons
These classes consist of a fixed schedule with a certain number of classes per semester for which the student pays in advance. Due to the nature of a group class environment, we will not be able to issue refunds or reimbursements for missed lessons or withdrawals.
We are not able to schedule individual make-up lessons for any reason. If the teacher is to be absent from any given class, students will be notified with ample time. A class will be made up at no additional cost if this occurs or if the school has to close due to an outside event.
Group classes consist of 3-5 students at a time for 60min. If for any reason attendance is less than 3 students, class time will be reduced to 30min, making the class a paired lesson.
Tuition
Classes at Mrs. Baron’s Music Studio are based on annual tuition. All classes are included in the tuition amount. A one-time, non-refundable registration fee of $50 is required to reserve your spot. A $35 recital fee is due at the beginning of each semester. Tuition may be paid for in 3 different options. Option 1: Pay in full, receive 20% off. Option 2: Pay half, receive 10% off with the remaining due in payments. Option 3: 10-month payment plan. You may cancel at any time but with the risk of forfeiting your spot and not receiving a refund. If under the payment plan and you decide to cancel, lessons remaining in the month will be awarded to you. Must attend remaining lessons within 30 days.
ALL PAID LESSONS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. With that said, if you wish to discontinue lessons at any time, a 30-day written notice is required. The student is responsible to attend lessons within the 30- days. If under a payment plan, you forfeit your spot, and no refund will be given. As a reminder, the registration fee is non-refundable.
Special offer: Receive 10% when multiple siblings register.
Payment options: All payment plans must be paid through MyMusicStaff to ensure payments are made on time. You will be automatically invoiced on the 1st of every month. If you choose to pay in full, other options include cash or check.
Recitals
At Mrs. Baron’s Music Studio, we consider recitals an essential part of student growth. It is a wonderful opportunity for parents and families to see the progress of a student. For this reason, we expect every student to participate in the recital for the over-all artistic experience of all levels. Students will prepare throughout the semester in order to perform. The recital date is posted at the beginning of the semester to give families plenty of time to plan accordingly. If for any reason the student is unable to participate, the $35 recital fee will not be reimbursed. The $35 recital fee is due at the beginning of each semester. The recital fee will cover 2 tickets to the recital. Additional tickets can be purchased for an additional fee.
Please make attendance a priority as students prepare and invest time to showcase their progress.
Student Responsibilities:
In order to receive the full benefit of instruction, the student is responsible for daily practice. Students must fill out a Practice Log in order to record daily practice. (30-minute lesson=30min daily practice)
It is important to come prepared with class materials, a positive attitude, and a smile.
Safety
Your child’s safety is our utmost priority. Please be mindful and cautious of others by taking safety measures to protect yourself and your classmates. If the student is sick, a virtual lesson will be offered and highly encouraged. To ensure your safety, facilities are cleaned and sanitized frequently.
Students under the age of 12 may be dropped off/picked up at Mrs. Baron’s Music Studio reception area by an adult or authorized sibling over the age of 16. Parents and children may wait quietly in the designated areas. Please do not leave children unsupervised under the age of 12.
Please be respectful of the facilities by throwing away all trash and only bringing water.
